Realizing the potential of this vacant mid-century classic, our client purchased the building and engaged our team to celebrate its timeless features and add amenities to serve a multi-tenant workplace community, creating a successful office building that could compete with the Twin Cities tenant market and help their tenants in attracting and retaining top talent.

When constructed in the 1950’s, the building interior design utilized terrazzo floors and marble walls in many of common spaces. Over time, many of these materials had been covered up and no longer celebrated. As a starting point, the designers stripped the building down to these timeless materials and the concrete structure and only added back what was needed for function.
Situated lakeside with access to trails, sport courts and lawn, the site laid the foundation for community-centric amenities that inspire curiosity, encourage movement, and empower wellbeing.

Social spaces were inserted throughout the building to create a resilient community environment. A farm-to-table café anchors the first-floor work lounge and training center. A 40’ long community table is set against a backdrop of operable glass walls that allow direct access to nature and new patio. The 8th floor clubhouse offers another venue to meet, relax and host events.
